JIM

fantastic site - lots of info - one of the first best efforts that I have seen - well laid out and lots of pics - an excellent short course in duct cleaning - a couple of pages of real stories that you must run across every day might be added to the ebook ---

a small suggestion - have someone do your editing other than yourself - even professional writers do not attempt their own editing -

good luck and I will be returning to visit

Today I would like to talk about 3 very different homes that I visited yesterday. The first house was a

beautiful 4000 sq ft rancher, on a crawl, nestled on a 10 acre parcel, two cars in the garage, a new

pickup in the driveway along side a boat and a camper. Inside the house were multiple flat screen

televisions, computers, antiques,etc, etc,etc…

The next house I visited was a brand new house. It was built on the side of a cliff so from the front it

looked like a rancher but once inside I discovered a 3 floor mansion. 6000 sq ft in all sitting on a half

acre lot. No cost spared in this project. The contractor was the owner and he knew what the best of the

best was. Floor to ceiling rock fire places, top of the line heat pump, the best appliances,  3 big screen

plasma TVs,  jacuzzi tubs, etc, etc, etc…

My last visit was to a 1300 sq ft home on a crawl. Two bedrooms, one bath, 6 rooms in total on a tiny

lot. Not a lot of elbow room because of all their possessions. One big screen TV in the front with a little

TV in the master bedroom. No extra fringes here but a nice cozy home, etc, etc, etc…

These three homes were located in three different parts of the city but all had the same problems. POOR

I.A.Q and a POOR FILTRATION SYSTEM. The first house at least had a previous owner that tried to seal

his/her system properly. Unfortunately they used duct tape ( DUCT TAPE IS GOOD FOR EVERYTHING BUT

DUCTS) and now yrs later the tape was hanging down off of every joint. Huge heat loss but because they

are on a crawl space repairs will be easy. The filter they were using was the least favourable for the

home owner. It was removing between 6-8 % of dust and allergens. The next two houses didn’t have any

type of sealing done. Unfortunately for the second house all of the ducting except for around the furnace

was now under drywall. In two to five yrs they will start to experience cold rooms throughout their home

due to heat loss. They will either have to live with it, will be convinced by heating companies that they

need a new furnace or they will have to rip out drywall to get at the ducts in order to seal them. The

owner/builder here didn’t have any filter in his system. The third house was lucky enough to have their

ducting in the crawl space so sealing it will be easy. They knew a little about filters but were still using a

filter system that wasn’t favourable for them.

In this industry ( Heating, Air Conditioning, Cleaning) the people responsible for helping customers make

the right choices, are not, in my opinion, doing what’s best for the customer. They are doing what’s

best for the company. I don’t agree with this at all. I see it as my duty to properly inform all my

customers on what’s best for them. In the 6 yrs I’ve been doing this I’ve never had a sleepless night

because I haven’t been honest to a customer, because I did what was right for my company and not what

was right for my customer or because I over charged a customer. When I go into someones home I give

the respect due to them as customers. They call me in because I’m supposed to be the expert. Isn’t it

time that the companies you are using to solve your heating and I.A.Q problems adopt this way of

thinking. Customer Service, especially in today’s economy HAS to be first and foremost. I cannot stress

enough how important WORD OF MOUTH ADVERTISING is.

Indoor Air Quality Awareness

I want to take a minute to let everyone know who visits my Blog exactly what I'm doing. Honestly, the first thing I am doing is promoting my E-Book, How to Save Money on your Heating Bill. But more importantly I'm trying to raise awareness on the importance of Indoor Air Quality. I.A.Q is a very real, very big problem in our lives today. I.A.Q levels in our homes and in our places of employment are sometimes as much as 10 X worse then the outdoor air quality. Take a moment to think about this. 10 X worse. You can see what we are breathing outside but inside is a different story. Next time the sun is shining through your home go over and rub the carpet or pat the arm of your favourite recliner and you'll see what I'm talking about. It seems to me that the only people that really care about I.A.Q are the people that are trying to sell you the mega buck purifiers, the mega buck Hepa filters, the mega buck humidifiers and on and on....I work for the largest Power-Vac Company in BC Canada and I take this issue to heart. I have helped out thousands on people on Vancouver Island, both residential and commercial solve these problems effectively with very little cost. I'm here to help you too. My E-Book deals with these problems and allows individual home owners to easily fix the problems themselves. It covers Heat Loss, Filters, Maintenance, Service and a few other ideas on how to improve I.A.Q with very little cost.

With today's dwindling economy can we sit back and watch money fly out the window? Our furnaces
need to be looked at. Our duct work needs to be looked at. Do you have a cold room(s) in your house?
Colder then the rest of your house? Have the furnace and oil people told you that your furnace is
inefficient and you need a new furnace?
Maybe you just need  to seal up your system .Duct tape is good
for everything but ducts. Installers aren't given the time to seal our systems properly thus resulting in heat
loss. A dirty and/or a leaky heating system is costing us some big dough. Having been in the duct
cleaning business for the last 6 years I have been able to save thousand of customers, literally thousands
of $$$, just by giving them the knowledge of how to seal their systems properly and how to maintain
their furnace systems so they stop costing them needless amounts of money..I can help you too!
My easy to follow step by step instructions can help you save hundreds on your heating bill and thousands
on the needless purchase of a new furnace.
You can bring in the experts to seal your system at a cost of
hundreds or you can get my EBook($20) and do it yourself for less then $100(supplies).

Furnace Filters
-Yes there is actually an air filter in your furnace. Most installers and service people,
would like us, as home-owners to run cheap inefficient filters, removing somewhere between 6% and
20% of dust and
allergens. These types of filters will drastically reduce the life span of your furnace...

My E-Book on the above mentioned topics is
Are you ready to save $$$ on your heating bill?
My Blog address is below. I talk  more about what we can do to our heating systems to reduce heating
bills. I welcome any comments and look forward to hearing from home-owners who in today's economy
are looking to save some money.

WHO DO YOU TRUST???

I just can't seem to get over what we as home owners are made to put up with. It appears that
everybody just wants us to spend, spend, spend
like we have a frigging'  money tree in our back yard. I'm
here to tell you all that we don't need to fork out bags of money to improve the I.A.Q
in our homes. A
little is a must but we have to be careful. I know it's tough. Who do I trust? I walk into 40+ different
homes a week and expect
total strangers to trust me. I am very passionate about what I do and people
feel this when we talk. You should get that same feeling from
whomever it is giving you the same
advice. Do a little research. Call around and ask about the Power-Vac company you are going to hire to
clean
your furnace and ducts. Referrals are the best advertising.  Make sure they use a Truck Mount
System
and that they're not using a shop-vac or a carpet/upholstery cleaning
system. It makes a
huge difference. Most of us are connected on-line so research your Filters. This is our only defense
against dust
and
allergens. You don't have to spend tons of money to get a good filter .My advice is a
low end Pleated Filter. Start low, see if it does what you
need it to do,if not then upgrade to the next
level. Why start at the most expensive when the low end filter might do the job .If a tradesman is
telling
you that your filter, the one that you can see through is perfect then please doubt him. It's in HIS best
interest for you to run an
in-efficient filter, not in your best interest. Permanent filters are great. They
are good for the environment as you just wash them out and then
put them right back into the furnace.
If a permanent filter is for you then I recommend going HIGH END.You will be looking at a cost of
$250+.
Anything lower and the PLEATED FILTER is where you should look because the throw away pleated will
remove more out of the air then
the permanent filter you just paid $200 for. Cold rooms in your house
DOESN'T mean you need a new furnace, DOESN'T mean the rooms are too
big, DOESN'T mean it's the
room farthest from the furnace and it DOESN'T mean you get no sun on that side of the house.
IT MEANS
YOU ARE
EXPERIENCING HEAT LOSS DUE TO THE IMPROPER SEALING OF YOUR HEATING SYSTEM! I wish I
could personally come into everyone's home and
help them out. Unfortunately I can't. What I can do is to
keep writing and updating my BLOG and hopefully reach as many people as
possible. I.A.Q in our homes
is a major problem but it's a problem we can fix ourselves .My E-Book is your answer on how to improve
the I.A.Q in
your home and the cost effective ways to save money on your heating bills. Of course I want everyone to purchase my E-Book but if you have any questions at all please leave a comment and I'll help
you out best as I can.

Indoor Air Quality? Is this something you should be worried about? I.A.Q is for real. Do you or a family

member suffer from itchy eyes, running noses or ahem s in the throat? These are all I.A.Q related. The

biggest problem with I.A.Q is Sensitivity.

What Is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity?

Multiple chemical sensitivity (M.C.S) is the name given by some to a condition in which various symptoms

reportedly appear after a person  has
been exposed to any of a wide range of chemicals. The exposure

may occur as a major event, such as a chemical spill, or from long-term
contact with low-levels of

chemicals, such as in an office with poor ventilation. As a result of exposure, people with M.C.S develop

sensitivity
and have reactions to the chemicals even at levels most people can tolerate.

M.C.S is rampant in our children from over exposure to poor ventilation in our homes, poor I.A.Q. My E

Book deals with the solutions to this.

I was at an I.A.Q seminar in Vancouver BC and the fellow running it talked about how his son,who was an

all around athlete,is now on a
puffer. This ,he said was a direct result of poor I.A.Q in his home and his

son was now sensitive to dust and allergens. He went to say how much
he wished that he had known

what he knows today years ago.You now have the opportunity to learn this before it's too late for the

 children
in your lives.Clean air is essential for good health, and this is especially true when it comes to

 indoor air.

As Canadians, we spend close to 90% of our time inside; at home, at work and in recreational

environments. Most people, however, are unaware of the effects that poor indoor air quality can have

on their health.

All of us have the ability to control the quality of our own indoor air.

A typical residential forced air heating system (above picture). Does this look familiar? As you can see the system has not been properly sealed which will result in heat loss throughout the home. My E-Book gives you a complete supply list and instructs you on how to easily and properly seal your furnace and ducts so that you will begin to heat your home and not your basement or crawl space.

money ideas

Below are 3 typical air filters for residential furnaces. The 1st one is a permanent filter. You'll find these at acost of anywhere between $35 and $150.My advice is to stay away from these. The 2nd filter is a pleated filter. These in my opinion are the best bet for home owners to run and the 3rd filter is the type that are shipped with new furnaces.Definitely stay away from these. In my E-Book I go into detail about choosing what filter is best for you.
